In July 2013, the Access and Diversity Unit of the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) in conjunction with MultiConnexions conducted a series of boardroom briefings on superannuation. Held in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, the sessions were undertaken for business and community leaders from multicultural communities.

The briefing was very well attended in all three cities. There was a range of topics discussed during the briefings including the basics of Super, finding lost Super, changes to Super and what these changes mean for both employees and employers.

Attendees also had the opportunity to ask questions directly to the ATO and learn more about communications to be implemented for multicultural communities on this topic in the coming year.

Loc Trinh, Director, Access and Diversity Unit said that the ATO will be undertaking more activities on these topics in the coming year to educate the multicultural communities about Super.

The briefing received an overwhelmingly positive response from the attendees.
Attendees appreciated being invited for such briefings and expressed the need for more information about Super to share with their communities.

The ATO offers a range of information and services to help people from diverse backgrounds understand Super in Australia. Information is available in English as well as other languages.
