7 women enter Lebanon's parliament!


Out of the total 976 candidates who originally registered to run, 111 were female candidates - a staggering surge compared to just 12 women in 2009.

The winners are:


Dima Jamali, Tripoli

Rola Tabash Jaroudi, Beirut 2 (Future Movement)

Bahia Hariri, Saida (Future Movement)

Minister Inaya Ezzeddine, Tyre (Al Amal wal Wafa2 - الأمل والوفاء)

Sethrida Geagea, Bsharri (Lebanese Forces)

Journalist Paula Yacoubi, Beirut 1 (Kollouna Watani - المجتمع المدني)

Joumana Haddad, Beirut 1 (Kollouna Watani - المجتمع المدني)
